DOXT-SL is used in the treatment of many other bacterial infections, such as Urinary tract Infections, Acne, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Periodontitis (Gum disease), and others. It is also prescribed for the treatment of blemishes, bumps, and acne like lesions cause by Rosacea. This medicine however, will not treat facial redness caused by Rosacea. It is also used to prevent malaria.

The drug works by twin activity, when the spores of L. sporogenes act in the stomach and gut by increasing the number of health friendly bacteria required for intestinal health and the antibiotic tetracycline stops the protein production in bacteria, eventually killing it.

Before you take this drug:
Do not take this drug if you:
- Are allergic to this drug or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine
- Are pregnant and avoid pregnancy till 7 days of stopping the treatment by using different contraception methods.
- Are breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you:
- Have blood pressure or kidney problems
- Have serious liver problem
- Have serious heart complaint
- Have kidney problems
- Have bleeding problems
- Have stomach ulcerative colitis
Dosage:
How much to take the drug?
Take this drug strictly according to your doctor’s direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, do not take this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Refer the instructions in them for detailed information on that particular medication.
How to take the drug?
Take Doxycycline HCl at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Always store this medicine in a cool and dry place.
For how long to take?
Use this medicine as long as the doctor tells you to take. Use the medication exactly as directed. Never use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Overdose:
An overdose of Doxycycline HCl can make you feel any discomfort get emergency medical attention or call the Doctor immediately.
Miss dose:
If you miss a dose of Doxycycline HCl, take it as soon as you remember. Taking too much of tablets to make up the missed one can lead to excess medication in your body which can be harmful.
Side effects of the drug:

Things to remember:
- One should not exceed the dose prescribed by doctor
- do not lie for 30 minutes after taking this medicine
